Released in 2012, the first chapter of the African Time Music songbook returns to the digital shelves for purchase. This SAMA Award-winning Best Jazz album, which registered my debut as a recording Artist, has not been in the public domain for some time.

For that reason, there has been a public outcry for it to be reinstated and made available for purchase. Re-issuing of this work brings me joy and happiness to share it with the world, for your library and archive and future generations.

After a long wait, allow me to present you with the music of the people from the people about the people, that reflects who we are and where we come from.

African Time is the present and continuation of historical echoes, the nurturing and advancing of our musical Heritage. I know sometimes we feel directionless about which way the compass is taking us in our democratic dispensations. It is for this reason that I pray that the return and accessibility of this album brings hope and courage in our communities to forge ahead as the struggle continues in our lives! Aluta continua!

In the meantime, as we continue with the struggle, I would like to emphasise that the African Time album will only be available on Bandcamp, and the legit single Hamba No Malume is available on all digital platforms.

This work would not have been possible without conversation re-arrangements with Steve Kwena Mokwena, the executive producer. More importantly, my gratitude goes to the generous musicians who played a pivotal role in making this work. Namely, Andile Yenana, Nduduzo Makhathini, Ayanda Sikade, Mthunzi Mvubu, Sydney Mavundla, Sakhile Moleshe, Busisiwe Sibeko, Malcom Jiyane, Kesivan Naidoo, Zamo Mbutho, Sifiso Khanyile, Omagugu Makhathini, Feya Faku, Marcus Wyatt, McCoy Mrubata, Jabu Magubane, Sydney Mnisi, Godfrey Mgcina, and Peter Pearlson who beautifully captured the sounds.

My special thanks also goes to Kido Nhlapho, Zuko and Niki Rwaxa (of Nikki’s Oasis), Garth Le Pere, Dinga Sikwebu, Athi Joja, Thembinkosi Goniwe, Myesha Jenkins (whose soul may rest in peace) and many others I could not fit in here. The list is extensive. Photographers and art designers Oscar Gutierrez, Steve Gordon and Mzwandile Buthelezi deserve my appreciation.

Marking the new Era of Afrikan Time Music, I am grateful to the members of iSandi Sarona Assembly, my record label: David Njuki, Moeketsi Boikanyo and Mduduzi Godlo for the running arounds, believing, and dedication.

My many thanks also extend to Karabo Tsoaeli, Sibongakonke Mama, Ntombovuyo Linda and notably Nandile Tabata for your time and commitment in ensuring justice prevails on legal issues. What would I have become without my Family, Relatives and Friends? Thank you so much for the Love. To my Maker and Creator, thank you.

Most of all, I sincerely appreciate the Supporters of African Time Music, the Beautiful People who Always show up in Numbers at my Concerts. I give Thanks. You are Always Noted and Valued.
